GREENLOCK’S RIDER

GENERAL INFORMATION AND RULES

Every rider at Greenlock must meet all requirements listed on this page.

  • Helmets AND safety belts must be worn by the rider at Greenlock.  Personal helmets can be purchased at a local tack shop or at Greenlock, or one of ours can be used during the riding session.  All helmets must be ASTM-SEI approved.  If you use our equipment, it is your responsibility to have your child wearing a properly fitted helmet AND safety belt prior to the lesson.

  • Riders must be dressed in weather-appropriate clothing.  Multiple layers in winter-long, lightweight pants in summer are recommended. Shorts and pants made of slippery fabric are inappropriate for instructional riding.  Tie shoes with heels are strongly recommended.

  • Greennlock is very conscious of clients' weight for our very hard-working horses.  If a client is over 160 pounds, there may be certain restrictions applied for the well being of our horses.

  • If a lesson must be canceled, please contact us as soon as possible since our volunteers and instructors often travel from long distances. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE SESSION IF YOU DO NOT CANCEL THE SCHEDULED LESSON.   Call Greenlock at (508) 252-5814

  • If Greenlock is closed due to weather or vacation we will put a notice on the answering machine.  If you are unsure due to weather conditions, please call.  If a "closed notice" is NOT on the answering machine, then we are open as usual!

  • Parking - Clients who are ambulatory and do not need Handicapped Parking should park at the barn and walk up to the arena.

  • No smoking on the premises except inside a private vehicle.
