Help us to give back
Volunteers form the backbone of our program and are integral to the success of Greenlock. Each week, over forty volunteers from nearby Massachusetts and Rhode Island assist on a regular basis in the daily sessions at Greenlock.
Volunteers include adults, as well as college, high school, and home-schooled students. We also welcome church, civic-minded organizations, scout troops, and groups from corporations to contact us to assist with various projects at the farm.
We are looking for people who can dedicate their time on a regular basis. Typically we ask for a 10-12 week commitment.
Your time and talent can make a real difference in people’s lives.
No experience necessary - we will train you! Must be 14 years of age or older and must be willing to commit at least 2 hours per week.
VOLUNTEER HORSE LEADER
Your primary responsibility is to take charge of the horse. You must constantly be aware of the needs of the client, therapist or licensed instructor, and of any potential hazard in or around the arena. The horse leader must keep the horse moving at the pace and in the direction that the therapist or instructor requests.
You will assist the therapist during the session as directed.
